Clickbank is one of the most popular, as well as beginner-friendly, affiliate networks. You don’t have to go through an approval process before you start to promote products.
It is a company based in Boise, Delaware, USA.
Clickbank hasn’t paid me anything to write this article. I love Clickbank since it is the first network where I made my first affiliate commission in July 2018.
I have written this article from a complete beginner’s perspective.

Without further ado, let’s begin with the first step.
Step #1: Signing Up to Clickbank
If you want to make money with Clickbank, the first step is a no-brainer.
You need to create your free Clickbank account first, right?
Most affiliate networks require a pre-approval process, but not Clickbank.
It makes it ideal for people just like you, who are complete beginners on affiliate marketing.
First, you need to go to Clickbank.com.
You then need to click on the big blue “Sign Up”-button located on the top right of your screen to begin the process of creating your free account.
Secondly, you need to select a language.
You can choose from French, English, German, Italian, Portuguese, or Spanish.
Choose the language you feel most comfortable with, and know the best on the top right, where it says International.

After you filled in that information, you need to fill in your details.
If you can’t find your country in the drop-down menu, Clickbank may not allow you to sign up for a free account.
In that case, you can either reach out to their customer support to prove that you are a legit business.
The other option you have is to choose a different affiliate network that will allow you to promote on their network.

If you are allowed, fill in the rest of the information.
Ensure you check the boxes to go on to the next step, where you will fill in your banking information.
Clickbank provides you with two different payment options:
- Wire transfer to your bank account. The money will be deposited to your account automatically.
- Check. If you, for some reason prefer to get a check, this is a viable option.
Make sure that you provide them with the correct details.
Lastly, you will fill in your account nickname, which is the most important one. It doesn’t matter what you choose, make sure that it is something you remember easily.
You will understand why it is important later on in this article.
When you’re done, you will get an email that requests you to log in to your brand new Clickbank account.
Now you can start to make money.
Step #2: Choosing a Product
There is no “right” product to promote for you.
Follow your passion.
If you already built up a large social media following or brand in a particular niche, you should choose a specific niche.
A niche is a segment of a market.
If you don’t know what you should choose, you can choose products in one of the three niches:
- E-business and E-commerce
- Health and Wellness
- Self-Help
However, as I wrote above, any niche will be profitable.
To find the most profitable products on Clickbank, click on the magnifying glass.
It will show you the most popular products to promote right now.
To choose a product, I follow the simple rules:
- I start by looking at popularity, what the average per sale amount is as well as gravity on Clickbank’s website. The two first ones are self-explanatory. Gravity is how many affiliates that made a sale in the last two weeks.
- Next, I look at CBInsights to see their statistics. It allows me to get a second opinion outside of Clickbank, to see the top converting offers.
- Lastly, I look at SimilarWeb to get some insights on how people are promoting the offer. It will help me decide whether the product is a good fit for me or not.
After that, I research the product and start to collect and produce information about it.
Step #3: Choose a Traffic Method
I normally choose one free traffic method and one paid method.
Traffic is a marketing term that means getting real people to see your offer.
Paid traffic will give you instant results, while free traffic is for the long-term results.
Free methods help me reduce the cost of marketing, but the downside is that it takes time.

It is a free method to make money with Clickbank, while you might want to do paid marketing instead.

That is just my results and is no guarantee that they will work for you.
Truthfully, it took me a long time doing it and wasn’t an instant success.
When you see people claiming that they get instant results with free methods, most often have done some paid ways that they don’t show you.
To gain momentum and get some fast results, I also use a couple of different paid methods.
If you can’t afford to invest in any paid methods right now, you have to stick with free methods and then re-invest the money you make into investment traffic.
It is how most successful people started to make money with Clickbank anyway.

How to Make Money with Clickbank As a Broke Beginner
I realized that I would offer you a bonus that I would have appreciated when I started.
To help you and show you what it actually takes to make money with Clickbank, I decided to choose one of the methods I discuss below.
I have to warn you, though: You have to set the right kind of expectations.
You can “make bank” with Clickbank by leveraging the free methods; however, it is slow and will take time for you with free traffic.
The key is to do something every day to keep the momentum going.
There will be times when you’re just feeling stuck and willing to give up.
My best advice is to continue because the more effort you put in, the greater your reward. All you need to do is to hustle.
I’m sorry if you were expecting anything else except complete honesty here.
The Problem Most Marketers Never Reveal to You
You will find a ton of useful information on forums.
On sites like Youtube and Quora, Google, and blogs just like the one you’re reading right now are many methods.
My best advice is to focus on one thing and not chase after the next best thing out there.
If you watch a video, it might be tempting to go with it and try it out to see if it is something for you.
However, some of it isn’t things that work unless you know every piece of the puzzle.
It might be a marketer who is building hype to sell you a course or promoting something in a video.
It might look like you can do and get rich overnight, especially if they claim that it is the biggest thing since sliced bread.
Especially if it is a very costly program where you need to spend a lot of money upfront.
Don’t fall for that trick! Don’t be a victim of shiny object syndrome.
Despite what some marketers are claiming, Clickbank will work for you even if you’re a broke beginner right now.
You have to be more creative and leverage your time in the best way possible.
For this reason, I will probably share the worst advice that you don’t want to read right now, but it is the ugly truth.
Make Money with Clickbank: Educate Yourself First
As I explained to you before, you can make money with Clickbank even if you’re a complete beginner. One thing you do need is some education.
Affiliate marketing is a business. It is not a hobby!
Even if you want to earn some money on the side and still stick with your day job, you still have to treat it like a business or a brand new job.
You didn’t just start to work and knew everything when you started to work, right?
Your employer had you go through some training when you joined the company. You got to know a little bit about the company’s history, as well as some hands-on training too, I’d guess.
You probably had some mentor or colleague to help you learn the day-to-day operation of your work.
By now, you should have realized the importance of education.
However, the most important step is to educate yourself and put your education into practice every day.
Lastly, you have to make a promise to yourself to stay away from distractions.
