After reading this article, you will know where to find side gigs and the most popular ways to do it.

Indeed, I have discussed where you can find many different side hustle opportunities for you, but I haven’t discussed them in the level of detail that I will do in this article.

The kind of side gig you do will decide which platforms best fit you.

For instance, if you’re a graphic designer, you might find a platform like Crowdcontent, a great place to find freelance blog writers not to be the right fit for you.

Since I know that this is a massive thing for beginners, I decided to write this piece of content for you.

If you find it helpful, I would ask you to share it with a colleague of yours, who might also be starting as a freelancer or starting a side project to make some extra money.

It will help me out, and your fellow gigger will love you for sharing it.

The Seven Most Popular Side Gigs Overall and Where to Find Them

Below I will deliver on my promise, which I did a while ago.

A. Deliver Food and Groceries

Delivering food and groceries can be a great way to make some extra cash on the side.

The two most obvious ones are UberEats and Grubhub, but there are five others where you can find side gigs and make a little bit extra, which includes:

  1. Amazon Flex – delivery service
  2. DoorDash – food delivery service
  3. GrubHub – food delivery service
  4. InstaCart – food delivery service
  5. JustEat – food delivery service
  6. UberEats – food delivery service
  7. Zomato – food delivery service

I used similar services myself when the COVID-19 pandemic struck, and I can tell you that I was delighted to use these services since they allowed me to enjoy great food from the comfort of my home.

Unfortunately, if you decide to do this side hustle and the next, you can’t do it from your home.

However, it can be a great way to get some free exercise if you use your bike instead of your car, making extra income which doesn’t hurt.

B. Ridesharing

If you own a car, then ridesharing might be an excellent way for you to make some extra income on the side.

Cars are pretty expensive since gas prices are skyrocketing, and you still have to pay for insurance, and it does cost you money even when you’re not driving the car. You might be considering this side gig.

If you already have a driver’s license and enjoy driving around in your city, it can be an excellent way to make some extra cash.

Online freelancing is one of the best side gigs you can pursue, no matter if you have a college degree or not.

Google and Facebook offer free training that allows you to become a certified expert on their platforms.

F. Rent Your Car

As I already discussed when I addressed the ridesharing side hustle, renting your car out can be a great side hustle.

The difference between renting your car out and ridesharing is that you don’t necessarily need to be the one driving your car when we discuss car renting.

It can be a great way to make a side income, but I understand you have many questions like what happens if my car is in an accident or who pays for the gas, and some of the vehicle renting apps that I list below covers it.

However, if you want more information, here is an excellent article covering all your questions that I found during my research.

Here are seven apps that allow you to rent a car:

  1. Avis Car Rental
  2. Budget Car Rental
  3. Getaround – Instant Car Rental
  4. Hertz
  5. Turo – Better Than Car Rental (US & Canada)
  6. Zipcar
  7. Zoomcar

Here is a list of the best ten car rental apps with more details and a comparison that will help you find out which app is the best for you, and it discusses all the pros and cons of each app in great detail.

This article does not answer all of your questions but instead shows you the different ways to make some extra money on the side.

It should tease your “taste buds” and help you discover that there are many opportunities to leverage the assets you already own and possess.

G. Rent Your House

One of the more popular side gigs in recent years is to rent your house out to tourists and strangers.

The most popular one of these rental apps/websites is Airbnb, but it is not the only one, as you will discover when you see my list of similar apps below.

Here are seven of the most popular alternatives to Airbnb that allows you to rent out your house with their benefits:

  1. Agoda Homes (Cheaper fees than Airbnb, accepts major credit cards & Paypal, and provides amazing value if you are staying for less than a week). It is very popular in Asia with millions of satisfied customers every year.
  2. Homestay (Lower price listings than Airbnb, higher booking fees than Airbnb but with no guest fee, and student features with even lower prices.) If you’re a student, this is the one I would recommend.
  3. House Sitter (Extensive interviewing. You will talk directly with the owner which might be a good thing. Restrictions. You might not be allowed to leave the property during certain hours of the day. Web-based communication makes it hard if you want a mobile friendly alternative to Airbnb.)
  4. Plum Guide (Pre-evaluated before they are allowed in the listing, a home critic will evaluate every house based on 150 different factors, and more comprehensive reviews)
  5. Sonder (Stream-lined check-in, cozier and less-awkward than Airbnb, and hotel-standard cleaning).
  6. Vacasa (Excellent customer support, local teams with professionals who evaluate the standards of each rental, and performs regular service inspections to verify that it meets up to standards makes it an excellent alternative to Airbnb.)
  7. VRBO (lower fees, more mature clientel, and more cancellation poilicies that Airbnb).
