This article will cover 15 easy ways to get more traffic to your blog.
Some of them are resources I have tested out before, and others were utterly new traffic sources to me, but I have joined most of them, and I am using all of the ones I joined to promote this article.
Traffic, visitors, or readers are the terminology bloggers use to describe the online resources that send them real visitors.
Some visitors you will get to your blog aren’t actual humans. These visitors are referred to as “spiders” and are the search engines’ way to process what is on your blog and where it should end up in the search results.
I don’t know all the ranking factors, but I know you will naturally use certain words and expressions when writing about a topic.
These words will help you get more people interested in whatever you discuss in that blog post. Note that I use the word concerning, NOT selling here because you shouldn’t sell anything in every blog post that you write.
If you are interested in getting 15 easy ways to get more traffic to your blog, you are the right reader for this post.
Never write a blog post that tries to cater to the needs of everyone. Aim for someone you know will love what you are discussing, and try to be as helpful to your specific audience as possible.
Here are the 15 most straightforward ways to get more traffic to your blog, and most of them are free:
- BizSugar
- Feedly
- Medium
- Scoop.it
- Sniply
- SlideShare
- TraffUp
- Triberr
- Tumblr
- Viral Content Bee
If that interests you, keep reading, and I will share my knowledge with you below.
BizSugar – check it out, great for small blogs
If you’re starting with a brand new blog, BizSugar can be a great place to start growing the number of readers of your blog.
Before I wrote this article, I had never heard about it myself, so I decided to give it a go and try it out to see whether it was the right fit for my blog or not.
You can get a lot of free resources there, since:
- It helps you get connected to like-minded individuals who already likes what you’re talking about.
- You can educate yourself if you want to learn a particular skill, and learn what have worked for others, and what didn’t work.
- You can join free webinars, and get access to free resources to help you grow your blogging business.
Sign up to BizSugar here if you think it will help you grow your blog.
Facebook can be a great resource, but these days organic reach, aka “free traffic,” is slim to none.
There are three ways to use Facebook to grow the number of readers to your blog:
A. Your Personal Facebook Feed
It is often an overlooked feature, but posting on your wall on Facebook can be a great way to get some visitors to your new blog. Indeed, it will not give you a ton of visitors to your blog but will help you get some eyeballs to your posts.
B. Create a Facebook Group or Post in Related Groups
The best way to leverage this method is to create your group first, start posting valuable information and links to other sites related to your group, and finally, put one or two links up to your blog.
A Facebook group can be a fantastic way to help reach more people and build a community in the process.
It is a slow process and will take a lot of time, energy, and effort to do it without spending anything, but it might be worth it, and as long as you stay consistent, you will get more people to read your blog posts.
You can even automate the entire process if you’re using WordPress.
There are plenty of tools that will help you with the process of publishing your latest content on Facebook, like Buffer or JetPack, to mention two free and helpful plugins that I use on this blog.
But, there are others as well.
It allows me to publish to my Facebook group whenever I publish fresh content on this blog, and it doesn’t cost me anything except a few minutes of extra time before I hit the “Publish”-button.
C. Spend Money Advertising
The third and final way to get visitors to your group or get your ideal readers is to spend money advertising.
It might not seem like the best way, especially if you’re on a budget, but it can be helpful to get more people to discover your content.
If you don’t take them away from the platform, you can get more visitors than sending people directly to your blog.
You can get started for as little as $5-$10 per day, and if you can’t afford it, you can use the other two tips that I shared with you above, or check out a fantastic course that allows you to earn up to $35/hour for commenting on Facebook.
If you do it for about 10 hours every week, you will be able to invest some of that money and grow your blog.
Feedly
Feedly will help you discover more trending things in your topic or niche.
It can also help you get more visitors if your blog post is helpful, and it can help you grow the number of visitors quickly if one of your articles gets viral.
Feedly will help you grow your blog visitors slowly but steadily if you use it consistently.
The key to growing your Instagram is to post content that makes people engaged and makes them watch your posts, but most importantly, the hashtags (#) you will be using.
You are allowed to tell your followers to like and follow you if they want the things you’re posting.
Growing the number of followers can be a bit slow, but sometimes you will post things that resonate with your audience and help you grow your account.
If you want to grow your account faster, you can purchase Instagram ads or ask influencers to promote you for a price tag.
ShoutCart is one of the marketplaces that allow you to connect with other people who are already posting similar content that you do, and UpFluence is another one worth mentioning.
Ideally, you can use it to promote a link to your newsletter or a blog post that already has got some visitors.
If you’re on a budget, I wouldn’t recommend doing it, but if you have some extra money to spend, it can be a great way to get traction in your field and more visitors quickly.
For instance, I used the image below to get visitors to this blog post myself.
If you want, you are allowed to share this image with your followers, and you will help me in the process since I will get more visitors to this article.
Medium
Medium.com can be an excellent resource for easy traffic to your blog if done correctly.
It is free to sign up, and you have to create quality content to get more visitors to your blog, but it can work well.
It can help position you as an expert and create more opportunities, like being interviewed by podcasts in your niche, being asked to attend web classes, or doing guest blogging.
All of it can help you get more visitors to your blog if you do it the right way.
Pinterest is another website that I want to cover in this article.
If you are a blogger who doesn’t use Pinterest, you might miss out on one of the easiest ways to get more readers to your blog since it helps visitors.
You can get more visitors to your blog in two ways:
1. Pinterest ads.
2. Organic reach.
The first type can help you get more visitors to your blog for a small amount of money. I would go with a $5-$10/day budget.
If you want to get more visitors to your blog, you might appreciate my article Make Money with Your Pinterest account for free.
An easy tip to get more visitors to your blog from Pinterest is to put your post pin on the top of your blog posts.
If you scroll up to the top of this post again, you will notice that I am doing what I write and don’t hide anything from you since this article is promoted through hard work, not through some paid platform.
Reddit is one of the best resources that you can use to get easy traffic to your blog.
You have to join different groups, or “subreddits” as it is referred to, read about their rules, and start to engage yourself in the conversation.
If they don’t allow you to send traffic to your blog, don’t do it.
If you try to do it anyway, people will get annoyed, complain about you to the administrators of the subreddit that you’ve joined, and they will kick you out and ban you from entering the group ever again.
So, stick to their rules, and you will be in a good position.
A great way to use Reddit is to create your subreddit and share your content in that space while sending people to your subreddit from the other subreddits where you are active.
Join Reddit here – it’s free.
Scoop.it
Another great place to share your blog posts and spread your links is Scoop.It.
It is free to sign up for an account, and if you’re an individual, you can use their service without ever having to pay anything, but if you’re a business, you have to pay for promoting your content.
I joined it, and this post was the first one that I shared within my account.
Scoop is a content curating platform that allows you to share other people’s posts on your blog, and they can do the same thing with your information.
Sniply
Sniply can be one of the best and easiest ways to get traffic to your blog.
Here is how to use it to get more visitors to your blog:
- Click here, and then click on the yellow button “Get started for free”, or “Sign in” if you already have an account.
- Choose a website that is ranking high on Google already.
- Paste it into the line on the top left that says “Enter a URL”, and then click on the yellow button “Create Snip”.
- Choose where you want to send people.
- Start sending them to your snippet through your social media.
Sniply is one of my favorite tools for getting more traffic to my blog, especially my newsletter since it gives people a sense of what I have to offer even if they don’t visit my blog first, since it brings trust.
SlideShare
If you can turn your blog posts into beautiful presentations and share them on the Internet, it is one of your best sites.
It is perfect if you have a lot of statistics and data to back up your claims, so if that is not an accurate description of your site, then SlideShare is not for you.
[slideshare id=250912906&doc=5easywaystogettraffictoyourblog-211228220509]TraffUp
I have tried TraffUp myself, and it can be a great place to share your blog posts if you’re into digital marketing.
It is one of the easiest ways to get more visitors to your blog post without spending anything, and you will use your Facebook, Instagram, Soundcloud, Twitter, and Pinterest accounts to share other people’s content on your social media.
Hopefully, they will return the favor.
TraffUp gives you points that you can spend within the platform, and if you want more, you have the option to purchase them for as little as $9.99.
If you can’t afford it, you can use it to get more eyeballs to your blog.
I only use the free methods since I prefer to spend my budget on different platforms, but it’s entirely up to you whether you think it will be a great place to start getting views.
If it sounds like the right place for you, you can sign up for TraffUp here.
Triberr
Triberr is a combination of FeedSpot, TraffUp, and ShoutCart.
You can use this platform to share your content on social media, and in that way, it is similar to TraffUp.
It also resembles ShoutCart since it allows you to find influencers, but you don’t have to pay them anything if you share good quality information.
If you do, they will discover your content and share it organically, which means you can get more visitors to your blog for free.
Since you have to enter your blog’s RSS feed when you sign up, it will start sharing your content as soon as you hit “Publish” on your blog, so you can start attracting visitors within minutes from signing up.
If your blog is on WordPress, your RSS feed will be yourdomain.com/feed/.
I have used Triberr on this and one other blog, and it has given me so many new visitors that I have lost count. It is one that I highly recommend since it is probably the easiest way to get more visitors to your blog on autopilot.
You can get started for free and then upgrade to a paid subscription plan to get even more features.
Tumblr
Tumblr is a kind of a mini-blog where you can share smaller versions of your blog posts and include a link that gets those readers from that miniature version of blogs to your actual blog.
If I did a smaller version of this post, I would cover 3 or 5 of the easiest ways to increase your blog traffic.
Then, I would tell my fellow Tumblrs that “if you want my full list, you can read about it here” and share a link to this article, but I am not using this platform myself since I don’t have time for it.
Still, if you think Tumblr is a great place to start, you can join it here.
It can be a powerhouse if you know how to do Twitter correctly.
If you don’t – it will only become a hostile shoutbox where people who scream the most get the most attention and is a complete waste of your time.
The trick is, like with Instagram, to use the proper hashtags (#).
Let me share an example of how I would write a tweet to promote this very article that you’re reading right now, and if you already have a Twitter account, I don’t mind that you share it.
[Tweet “Here are 15 easy ways to get more traffic to your blog instantly. #blogging #growyourtraffic #bloggingtraffic”]If you want to get paid up to $25/hour for posting on Twitter, I have found something that you might find interesting, and you can use it to learn while you earn, and see what is already working, and then use your knowledge to grow your blog’s Twitter-account.
Viral Content Bee
Viral Content Bee is the final and easiest way to grow the traffic to your blog since it allows you to share your posts on social media.
You will pay in points rather than real money if you don’t buy extra points.
To earn points, you have to use your social media accounts to share content that you will find on Viral Content Bee, and here is my guide to making points and getting more visitors:
- Create a free accont on ViralContentBee.
- Start connecting one or two of your social media accounts. You. can connect your Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest accounts.
- Share the things you want to read, and that you think your readers will be interested in reading.
- Spend the points you earn by promoting one article.
That is how I am using Viral Content Bee myself to create a “buzz” around my content, and that is what I recommend you would do as well.
Summary
I think you have noted that free or organic ways to get more traffic are growing increasingly difficult these days.
There is a tradeoff between time vs. money, and it all comes down to what you are willing to spend to grow the number of people who read your blog posts.
As you probably notice, I use the terms traffic, visitors, and readers interchangeably throughout this article.
They all mean the same thing: Real human visitors are interested in getting more eyeballs to whatever piece of content you are creating.
The free methods can be time-consuming.
However, if you can’t afford to pay to get visitors to your blog post, I still wanted you to get several methods that you can use that are easy and drive more traffic to your blog.
If you can afford to spend $5-$10/day, I would recommend that since it will save you time while still getting visitors to your blog.
I can not emphasize the importance of having a social media presence for your blog enough since it is the easiest way to get more visitors and create awareness of your content.
Don’t assume that people will find your content instantly.
By helping people find your content, you will grow your audience and start building trust within your community, but the key is to do it consistently, no matter if you are using paid or other methods.
My list is by no means a complete guide since it only shares 15 easy ways to drive traffic to your blog.
There are other ways like TikTok, Youtube, your newsletter, and search engine optimization that you can do for free, which I didn’t cover in this post.
The sky is the limit when you try to get more visitors to your blog, and I wanted to give you a small taste of it.
I recently wrote this guide on how you can go viral on TikTok, which you might find helpful if you like to be creating videos on that platform.
