NOTE: All the numbers I mention in this article are statistics and are not a guarantee that you will ever make anything.

As you probably already know, I have some experience working as a digital freelancer, and I will NOT sugarcoat anything here but give you the truth.

Below, you will be able to read everything, and I will not charge anything for it.

All I am asking is that if you find this article helpful, I kindly ask that you share it by using one of the buttons with someone else who is considering starting as a digital freelancer and help me spread this article to those who need it the most.

The Benefits of Working as a Digital Freelancer Compared to a “Normal” Job

If you are considering starting your new career as a digital freelancer, let me be the first one to congratulate you because you are making the right choice.

If you are used to working at a “normal” job, it might be scary for you to quit it and lose all your benefits. I get it.

However, there are many benefits to start as a digital freelancer, and here are things other freelancers and I enjoy that might be helping you to take the step and become a digital freelancer yourself:

  • You can set your own working hours and don’t have to work 40-60 hours unless you want to. You set your own schedule and work as little or as much as you want to work. Being able to control your own schedule is the greatest benefit of working as a digital freelancer. 64% of all men and 71% of all female freelancers thinks that it is the greatest benefit according to a study conducted by MBO Partners.
  • You can work from ANYWHERE in the world as long as you have access to the Internet and a laptop.
  • Work on the projects you love. One of the benefits of working as a digital freelancer is that you can choose which projects you want to work with unlike when you work a normal job where you have to work on the things your boss or job specifies that you have to do.
  • No boss. According to the same study from MBO Partners that I previously cited, 67% of all men and 58% of all women who replied to the survey claimed that this was the greatest benfit.
  • Flexibility. As you probably already realized your opportunities are endless. 76% of all female freelancers and 58% of the men thinks this is the greatest benefit of working as a freelancer, according to the study I cited above, and I concur.

There you have some of the most significant benefits of working as a digital freelancer.

Now let me ask you: What do you want to achieve when you start as a digital freelancer?

Suppose you are worried about job security and the benefits that come with it. In that case, I want to inform you that 53% of all men and 40% of female freelancers, according to the study from MBO Partners (2020), feel more secure working as freelancers than a “normal” job.

The 5 Most Profitable Digital Freelancing Positions That You Can Start with Today

If you are getting ready to start working as a digital freelancer, you might want to know the five most profitable positions that you can start today.

First, let’s think of what you already know and how you can monetize your knowledge.

For instance, if you love graphic design, you can start as a digital freelance graphic designer and even do logos for startups.

Graphic design is extensive, and you are probably better off limiting your services to only one or two things that you are good at doing and that you know you can pull off even if you are starting.

If you are not good with graphic design, you might be good at writing, typewriting, proofreading, or setting up blogs.

As you probably realize, the sky is the limit, but what are the most profitable freelancing positions?

  1. Corporate and contract law (hourly wage: $75-$85)
  2. Financial planner (hourly wage: $62.50)
  3. Management consultant (hourly wage: $60)
  4. Programming (hourly wage: $60)
  5. Digital marketing (hourly wage: $60-$50)

It should come as no surprise to anyone that lawyers, primarily corporate and contract law experts, are in high demand as digital freelancers and can charge their clients as much as $85 per hour.

Most of the best-paid freelancing jobs do require a college or university degree, but not every position.

The previous example of working as a graphic designer would land you an hourly wage of around $50, according to a study made for CNBC by the digital freelancer platform Upwork.com.

If you don’t have a college or university degree, you can still work as a digital freelancer and earn pretty well.

The same study noted that people who can do marketing automation, write emails, set up landing pages, and write creatively and persuasively could earn as much as $50 per hour.

You might find it intriguing but don’t know how you can become a digital marketing freelancer. No worries – I’ve got your back!

If you have no skills but start working as a digital freelancer today, my article will show you how to start making money.

Where You Can Find Open Job Positions as a Freelancer

There are many places where you can find open job positions as a freelancer. There are primarily two ways to see open job positions as freelancing: joining a freelancer platform or reaching out to business owners yourself.

What is the benefit of using a platform as a freelancer?

The benefit of using a platform to find a job is that you will find many open positions, but the downside is that there is more competition since you are competing with other freelancers for every job.

Here are 5 of the most popular freelancer platforms that you can join for free today:

  1. Fiverr
  2. Upwork
  3. Freelancer
  4. Guru
  5. PeoplePerHour

These are five of the most popular platforms, but there are many other platforms you can utilize and find work on as a freelancer, and the best ones are the ones that I listed above, and all of them are free to join.

What is the benefit of doing the outreach yourself?

If you want to do the outreach to business owners yourself, it is possible to do it.

Think about what you can offer them, and then start to find clients.

However, if you don’t think you have anything to offer yet, let me tell you that you do, even if you don’t think so right now.

How do I know about it? Because that was how I felt myself when I first started my freelancing career after being employed for more than a decade.

I will soon share what I started with and how you can start today, but first, I want to give you some pros and cons of working as a freelancer, which I promised you initially.

Pros and cons of working as a freelancer.

Since I have experience working as a freelancer, I want to tell you how it is by listing the pros and cons, and then let you decide if you wish to start working as a freelancer or not.

The pros of working as a freelancer:

  • You can work as many hours you want, or as little you want. Most freelancers work between 11-30 hours a week.
  • Pay will vary depending on the complexity of work as well as your experience. More experienced freelancers can charge their clients more, and less experienced freelancers and quick jobs (maximum 30 minutes of work) will make you less money but are great for starters.
  • You can work from anywhere in the work. Even from a beach while sipping on a drink in the sunshine in a tropical country.
  • Self-discipline is necessary. Set your own work hours and stick to them.
  • You don’t have any boss.

Here are the cons of working as a freelancer:

  • You have to work to get paid. If you don’t get paid, you don’t make anything.
  • Some people might try to scam you, especially if you are inexperienced.
  • If you are doing cold outreach yourself, it might be harder to get clients compared to a platform.
  • There is a lot of competition from other freelancers.
  • You might get bad reviews on the platform even if you do a great job.

I hope you now realize that there are both good and bad things if you are considering working as a freelancer, and I wanted to give you a realistic overview in this article before you jump into anything that you might regret.

I have never been scammed because I have never done freelancing on a platform and only worked with people I know.

If you want to start freelancing the right way but don’t know how you can do it, I will share what I am doing and how you can get started right now.

How You Can Start Working as a Freelancer with No Experience Today

It is a simple solution if you want to start working as a digital freelancer today but don’t think you have any skills.

It would be best if you educated yourself, and then you can start doing it, get clients, and most importantly, get paid so you can make a living as a digital freelancer.

I joined a program myself and learned how to make money from the comfort of my own home.

However, all it takes is that I have access to a computer, my login details, and a stable Internet connection, and I can work from anywhere around the world, even on an airplane or a tropical beach.

If you want to experience it, you can join the same program that I joined here.

When you land on the page, my mentor Dave will explain how you can start as a digital freelancer and earn money within the next two weeks.

It takes two weeks because you need to set aside an hour every day to go through the coaching program.

If you can’t make that kind of commitment, then that is not the right fit for you, but if you have no clue how to start as a digital freelancer, I would recommend that you begin with that.

It is not free, but it is very inexpensive since you only have to pay $7 (or .50¢/day).

If you decide to purchase it, I will earn a small commission since that is how I make money as a digital freelancer, and that is what you will learn too if you join the program.

I hope you have enjoyed this article.
